We are delighted to offer a Woodwind masterclass with Daniel Chandler MA, BMus (Hons)
Saturday, 8th February 2024, from 10am – 1pm at the Austin Suite, Austin Friars School
Free to both participants and audience
After graduating from the Royal College of Music, Daniel performed as a professional flautist in orchestras, chamber ensembles and as a soloist. He holds a teaching degree from Edge Hill University and a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick.
In addition to holding several teaching posts, Daniel has conducted choral societies, choirs and other groups in the UK and venues further afield, including Westminster Abbey, Salzburg Cathedral, the United Nations and St Paul’s Chapel, New York.
He is currently Assistant Head of Bolton Music Service and works with all sectors of the local community to increase access to quality music making. Daniel is a Professional Mentor for PGCE students studying at the RNCM and Manchester Metropolitan University. He still manages to find time to continue performing, deliver workshops and adjudicate for the British and International Federation of Festivals.
The class offers players the chance to perform 1-2 pieces (lasting no more than 5 minutes) that they will enjoy playing for Daniel and the audience. Numbers are limited and the successful applicants will be informed shortly after the closing date.
